Hi Mitchell.
Fnding more about old(er) thinkers and linking their ideas with what's happening now in Korea is something that I am trying to do (to a certain extent), as I don't think there's too much done in that domain. I'll have to think more about it, and in the mean time you could let me know what specific area/s you're interested in, but I know that myoung-hye kim has written some great stuff about technology and korean women - not sure about stem cells w/ her though :)

But what about your book, Jaz? :-) I was just writing in my diary (that's an old media form, a sort of proto-blog with no comments switched on) about Korea and realized that, while I know how to get as many Korean techno-statistics and pop-culture artefacts as I might want, I don't yet know where to find the intellectuals. I'm not even sure what I'm after... some digital Jean-Paul Sartre, maybe, someone from the 386 generation who's now writing about the contemporary scene, about facelifts and stem cells... If that rather woolly description brings anyone to mind, please let me know. :-)

The library here has 2 copies of Michael's book on order, I guess they'll show up soon.
